Am I naïve to think that two-year-old children should be concerned with fingerpainting, “Yo Gabba Gabba”, and discovering shells and seaglass on a beach … and that parents should be encouraging these endeavors?

A recent story out of New Hampshire’s largest city apparently sends a different message.

So Manchester couple Danielle Maxwell and James Currier leave their apartment (with their puppy, I might add) without bringing their toddler, who was found “lying in her own vomit” by police.

Is it wrong, by the way, that all I can hear is Peter Clemenza advising, “Leave the gun, take the cannoli?”

An Indian village has banned unmarried women from using mobile phones. The reason? Village elders fear that unmarried women will use mobile phones to arrange their own marriages behind their father’s backs. Yeah, I’m not kidding. The Lank village council has decided that unmarried men can use mobile phones only under parental supervision, whilst unmarried women face a blanket ban on their use. In yet another photo shoot uproar, Taylor Momsen’s Revolver cover is apparently so distasteful that it has prompted Bonnie Fuller to ask her readers if they think Momsen’s style is that of a “high-class hooker,” or a “low-class hooker.”
