The family of a sixth grade student in Augusta, Maine, has sued their school district after they refused to let the male-bodied child, who identifies as female, use the girls’ bathroom. They said that school officials “forced her to use a gender neutral bathroom” and that as a result “her peers picked on her.”
The school responded that they trans-trained their staff, educated their students on trans issues, and gave the child her own bathroom and locker.
