“Fiscal Conservative” Tea Partier Owes Over A Hundred Grand in Child Support

Hypocrisy is unspeakably distasteful to me.

I think that’s most of my problem with the whole Tea Party movement.  The gist of what they’re saying sounds logical to those who aren’t educated in the ways of politics, and they use that logic to prey on the ignorant.

Their M.O. is to make themselves sound like an average citizen struggling to get by, and John Q. Minimum Wage has no idea that most of the Tea Partiers are extremely wealthy.  They collect the votes of people with legitimate financial struggles in order to put plans in place that will protect their fortunes, often at the cost of us low or middle class citizens.

It’s sickening.

Which is why I’m always kind of excited when Tea Partiers are caught with their financial pants down.  It gives me hope that the misguided people following them in droves will see the light.

Congressman Joe Walsh of Illinois, he who has accused Barack Obama of “spending like a drunken sailor”, allegedly owes well over $100,000 in back child support.

For those of you unfamiliar with the child support concept, there is a standard …

Does the Republican Plan to Redefine Rape Piss You Off? It Should!

Stop Rape Now Poster

I know you can’t paint a person’s portrait by their political colors, but the recent Republican push to redefine “rape” has got me seeing … well, red.  Basically, it’s only rape if there is “force” involved.  This begs the question, of course, of what equates force.

Is it vaginal trauma?  Women can have evidence of vaginal “trauma” from consensual intercourse.  Is it bite marks?  Evidence of sodomy (which, of course, could also be “consensual”)?  Bruises? Lacerations?

I mean, seriously …

And I guess what’s really got me up in arms about this is that it’s really all about that evil four-letter word, abortion.

From Mother Jones:

For years, federal laws restricting the use of government funds to pay for abortions have included exemptions for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest. (Another …

Political Hopeful Ken Buck Criticized for Declining to Prosecute a Rape Charge

Photo of Ken Buck Campaigning

When bad stuff happens, most people will talk to their friends about it, rant and rave via Facebook and Twitter, or take it to the next therapy session. When the truly unspeakable happens, however, there’s more of a tendency to keep it inside, to bottle up your feelings out of guilt, shame, or simple utter devastation.

Rape falls under the “truly unspeakable” category.

It takes a damn strong person to bring forward a rape charge—I did not have the guts to do it myself, and it almost drove me crazy. I am in awe of those strong enough to name their accuser, to publicly hold the bastard accountable.

Which is why I want to punch Colorado Republican Senatorial …

Beth Holloway, Natalee Holloway’s Mother, Breaks in to Jail to Visit Joran van der Sloot

Natalee Holloway’s mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, has been living a nightmare that few of us can even imagine for the past five years. Her vibrant daughter was suddenly gone, and she didn’t even have the closure of being able to bury Natalee—she technically doesn’t even know for sure that she’s dead, although that’s sadly a pretty clear conclusion.

Perhaps the worst thing for Twitty is that the authorities know who is responsible for Natalee’s disappearance (and assumed death) while on a vacation to Aruba.

Think about how horrible it must have been for Natalee Holloway’s family to see Joran van der Sloot all over the television screen (including a Lifetime original movie) for the past five years, usually in some state of alcohol-fueled and gambling-centered pursuit. It must have been like getting flipped a gigantic bird at every turn.

Like most sociopaths, though, van der Sloot finally pushed the envelope a little too far. He was essentially caught red-handed in the violent murder of Stephanie Flores and is currently in a Peruvian prison.

A Peruvian prison that Beth Holloway Twitty snuck into so she …
