Conservative columnist Ann Coulter recently said, “I think all real females are right-wingers.” Coulter said, ”And I can tell you that based on experience — and my bodyguard will back me up on this — all pretty girls are right-wingers.” Super, right? Here’s more:
“But, I mean, the reason unattractive — I suppose — the reason liberal women are liberal is because they have to date liberal men and as we’ve seen from Bill Clinton and Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Anthony Weiner, we’ve seen how liberal men treat women. I’d be angry too.”
Well, let’s just take a look at how stupid those quotes are. Yes, I’m sure no conservative men have been caught treating women poorly, ahem NEWT GINGRICH. Surely, there has never been a sex scandal with a conservative man holding his shamed wife’s hand before the masses as he talks about how he likes to have sex with male prostitutes. That never happened multiple times. Also, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, Charlize Theron, and Mila Kunis are pretty attractive women—and liberals. But maybe they’re actually just really, really ugly and we’re deluded into thinking otherwise.
Coulter didn’t stop there. “I’ll take 69 cents on the dollar, or whatever [the] current feminist myth is about how much we make just to have to never have to pay for dinner. That seems like a fair deal to me.” This comment is referring to the disputed wage gap between men and women, of course.
As for me, well – my head is about to explode. Why does this woman have a platform? Who gave it to her? Was it a joke? How is a self-respecting conservative woman saying “Yeah, that Ann Coulter—she just gets me.” Here’s the thing, Ann, women want to make equal wages so they can buy their own damned dinner. They don’t want to rely on a man for food, or shelter, they want to be on their own – or at least be able to MAKE it on their own, should they choose. That’s the entire point of feminism, last I checked. Not to have to rely on anyone – male or female – to make their own lives work for them.
Perhaps Ann could take a break from cashing her million-dollar checks and sliding into her skimpy designer dresses and actually read up on feminist issues and the complete lack of respect for women’s rights that is going on all over the world today.
But that might take away from her shooting her ignorant, hurtful, completely unfounded factoids on Fox News.
