Dharma

Dharma spent almost a decade of her life looking for a place in mainstream media that would allow her to be happy in her use of words. While she was wildly successful at writing the way her editors wanted her to, she found her voice slowly crushed under the guise of “objectivity.”  She finally left journalism for a slightly more lucrative field, only to find she missed writing for a living.  She’s now heading to law school, where she plans to read and write until collapse on a daily basis.  This is her idea of fun.

Dharma started out as the kind of feminist who led Take Back the Night marches and refused to wear a bra or shave her legs.  She’s become more mainstream now, reaching the conclusion that she doesn’t need to walk around angry and opposed to everything all the time.  She’s decided feminism means freedom.  It means she gets to be happy and pursue any dream she likes.  She still believes deeply in those Take Back the Night marches, but she doesn’t have to do them with hairy legs anymore.
