Ashley Lindstrom

ashleyAshley Lindstrom was recently described by an ex-boyfriend as an “extremist feminist,” but seriously folks, it’s not like she founded S.C.U.M. In fact, her childhood feminist icon was Laura Dern’s smiley, smarty-pants, take-charge character in Jurassic Park (so thanks, Mom, for taking me out of school to see the movie!).

From January of 2007 to July of 2008, Ashley busied herself engaging art as a means to address wider social issues as the Screens & Tech editor of The San Antonio Current alternative weekly newspaper in South Texas.

Of late, Ashley is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Masters in Specialized Journalism — The Arts program, where, in addition to honing her journalistic writing skills, she studied cinema, playwriting, and feminism. She also found herself knee-deep in geek culture — an avid reader of graphic novels and watcher of Battlestar Galactica.

Ashley believes in compassionate, thought-out, pro-woman feminisms that combine the untethered pleasure possibilities (that is, fun!) of the Third Wave with — when called for — the righteous anger of the Second.
