Word on the street from CNN to CBS is that Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are reuniting for the purpose of “co-parenting their child.”
From Us Magazine:
Although Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston broke off their engagement in March 2009, an insider tells UsMagazine.com that relations have thawed considerably between the young parents to son Tripp, nearly 18 months.
“Bristol and Levi are still very close,” a source close to Bristol, 19, tells Us. The eldest daughter to former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin claimed in the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar that ex Johnston, 20, was “a stranger to me.”
But the source reveals, “Now that Mama Palin is out of the picture and Bristol is on her own in Anchorage, they spend more time together than most people think.”
Adds the source: “Levi even stays overnight. I even think they are back together.”
[Bristol] Palin told RadarOnline.com, “Levi and me are co-parents of Tripp and we are actively working on being good parents together.”
Added Johnston, “Nothing is more important to me or Bristol than our son Tripp. We are taking active steps to work cooperatively in raising him, and in sharing the joys — and challenges — of parenthood.”
Now, there are a couple of ways of approaching this very interesting development. Some are attributing this as a snub directed at Mama Bear Palin. I, however, have a different theory. Maybe it’s even a conspiracy theory.
Okay, Sarah Palin is vehemently against comprehensive sex education in lieu of an abstinence-based curriculum. Fine. Great. Then her daughter gets pregnant at seventeen, pretty much disproving her point. As John McCain’s running mate, Palin made sure to publicly include Johnston in anything that would show her support of family values. Bristol and Levi break up, Levi talks to the media (and you know a lot of it has got to be true … I mean, between pillow talk and just spending time with the family, Levi Johnston probably knows more about the Palin family dynamic—and Sarah Palin herself—than most), and Sarah Palin looks like an idiot yet again.
