Newest Pippa Craze Confirms She Could Probably Sell Bicycles to Fish

For everyone reading this who needs a list of every single product that the Middleton sisters so much as brush their bodies against, you have a new item to add to your ever-expanding list of Pippa and Kate beauty secrets: Lancome’s “miracle cream.” One article alleges that the Middletons swear by the brand-new product, a claim which has caused a minimum 2-week wait at beauty counters all over the UK, but another simply states that the sisters, along with Emma Watson, were merely the first three people unaffiliated with Lancome to try the new $115 face cream, which promises that it is “better than Botox and cosmetic surgery at correcting facial imperfections.”

First, of course, the obvious must be stated: a topical cream is not going to be more invasive that a needle filled with spoiled pig fat being injected into your skin or a scalpel digging into your flesh …

Harrods Employee Refuses to Wear Make-Up, No Longer Has a Job

photo of harrods employee no makeup pictures photos pics

God forgive me, but I think I agree with Liz Jones. The above woman was outraged that the British luxury retailer, Harrods, made make-up a part of their required dress code for their female employees. The outraged employee in question, Melanie Stark, says that she was sent home once for not wearing the requisite amount of “slap,” and on a second occasion was sent to work in the stockroom for coming to work with her face under-dressed.

But here’s the thing — Stark wasn’t fired, she quit. And that’s the thing — when you join a job, you agree to the employer’s requirements. I really, really wanted an eyebrow ring when I was 16 (I know, I know), but I had a job that wouldn’t allow visible piercings, so I didn’t get one because I wanted to keep the …

photo of dove ad racist pictures photos

There has been plenty of chatter over the above ad the past couple of weeks, with many blogs and news outlets questioning whether the positioning of the three women in front of the “Before” and “After” images is racist. Why? Well Jezebel, along with a number of other sources, believes that the not-so-subtle implication is that the bodywash isn’t just promising to give you smoother, silkier skin, but also that by putting the black woman squarely in front of the “Before,” the latina woman somewhere in the middle and the white woman in front of the “After,” that they’re also implying that the palest skin tone is the most desirable. The tagline “Visibly more beautiful skin” doesn’t help much, either, nor does the fact that all they promise …

Can Make-Up Harm You Physically and Psychologically?

I’ve spoken before of my addiction to cosmetics — and I’m fully aware that there is something a little strange about the way I feel both naked and insecure without at least a bit of blush and mascara — but The Sun’s article on how make-up could harm you both physically and psychologically is, well, a bit odd.

They list the benefits of going without your usual …
