While I suspect that Barack Obama lived a careful life, deciding early on that he wanted a future in politics (and I don't think a politician has EVER been exposed to the same degree of scrutiny as Obama), the fact that Michelle has been able to hold up to crazy scrutiny that she likely wasn't expecting from childhood just speaks to how truly amazing she has always been. I am so proud to have a First Lady that my daughters can look up to and emulate (particularly after the distressingly Stepford-esque Laura Bush). I am awed by Michelle Obama.
