Please. I mean, come on, seriously, please. Even though Gisele is a Victoria’s Secret model, she’s done a lot of stuff off the runway that she deserves credit for, but these spots for Hope Lingerie are just atrocious. Oh, what? There’s another one? Another two? OK, let’s check those out, also:

I know that these ads are supposed to be lighthearted and “fun,” and maybe I’m taking them way too seriously this early on a Saturday morning, but come on.

What’s off about it is that Giselle is clearly an excellent business woman. It’s hard to buy this message from a woman who has created the brand and empire that she has.

Agreed. She can’t pull off “vapid gold-digger relying on her looks” very well because we know she’s not that one-dimensional. So, I guess that’s a good thing in a way. We expect more of Gisele in lingerie. Something involving a menswear take on lingerie in an office setting would be dead sexy for her, and a chance to show off her smarts and her body and charm all at once. This just falls flat.

That’s a hilarious spot. It says “this lingerie is so awesome that he won’t be able to pay attention to anything else while you’re wearing it!”
Sounds like a good ad campaign to me.
