In an effort to sell an exorbitant amount of lingerie this holiday season, the people over at La Senza have come up with a somewhat genius advertising campaign called “The Cup Size Choir.”
In the video, which has received …
… over a million hits on YouTube, La Senza has featured women ranging in bra size from A-G. The ladies are cheesily lying on mattresses singing their appropriate note in the tune of deck the halls. It’s clever. I kind of like it, not in a pervy way, but more for the unintended positive message hidden within this ad regarding women’s body image. While I realize this video is about getting men to buy La Senza products for their girlfriends by using hot models on beds, I still feel that there is a positive message in here. I love that they have embraced both small-breasted woman and big-boobed girls. They effortlessly made women with different figures all look smoking hot. It’s rare to see an ad featuring a lady with G cups and even more rare to see one with an A cup. While I highly doubt that it was their intent to make a body positive statement, I think they did. It’s nice to see women of all cup sizes working it.
I come from a long line of large-breasted women. Sadly, I didn’t inherit that gene. I’m pretty average – not tiny, but not large by any means. Though I have secretly always wished that I had bigger boobs, I am certain that this may stupidly stem from the idea that my fist boyfriend broke up with me for a girl that had humongous boobs – but regardless, I’m good with what I’ve got on the whole, so I can definitely appreciate this.

Cute… it’s too bad they don’t sell G-cup bras…
I liked it.
I was waiting for Zelda to pick up on this! Personally I really hated it. Yes, there were smoking hot women of all body types (yay!) but only in that they were all being equally objectified (boo!). Did you get to the game on the website where you can “play” the girls with your computer keyboard? They sound like they’re having orgasms on cue (if only it were that easy!). I thought it was gross and so obviously not meant for women.
God I hated this. It is so pervy and cheesy. I don’t care how all-encompassing of boob sizes it is, it’s a cheap gimmick.
Smells like titty sweat.
After examining the video and reflecting on the content. And how it pertains to, or should I say exlemplifies the previlant cultural climate as it relates to gender, body image steriotypes and the continuing objectification of women. I have determined that…. *gigity*
Hahahaha, a well thought-out analysis!
What is interesting is that the big sizes are not just implants, or the rare 30G but still tiny skinny types, but the big-busted ones are actually a little heavier. ‘G’ is a healthy-looking girl carrying more weight, and they didn’t even need to make a big deal about it – they just put her in with the rest.
This is good.
As Kristine says above, it would be nice if they sold those. Are they using competitor’s bras? Or did they make some specially for this? And can they start producing them regularly? Because those upper three would not normally be able to shop at La Senza…
they wouldn’t have F & G cups in the UK?
