While we hear plenty in the news about male rapists and child molesters, females who commit sex crimes are often ignored by the media and many instances of abuse go unreported in the first place. When these crimes are reported, they are also less likely to result in charges or convictions, due largely to societal and cultural biases that see women as meek caregivers, incapable of violence. Many victims are also unwilling to admit that they were abused by women, as they feel that this would make them look “weak.” Although women are estimated to commit only four to six percent of all sex crimes, it is still a serious problem that needs to be addressed, or much like anything else, will start to spiral even more out of control.
The one thread that is common among nearly all female offenders? They all suffered abuse themselves during childhood. This causes many female sex offenders to have passive personalities and take refuge in their children, as they see men as threats. Although the study does not mention this, to me this seems like the sort of behavior that would lead to more instances of abuses, just as Catholic priests who abused were constantly around altar boys. Where I think the difference is is that whereas abuse by males is usually immediately dealt with, abuse by women is either tolerated or unnoticed. Also, there is less of a willingness to assume that specific behavior is actually abuse, thus female abusers are less likely to receive punishment or treatment. In my opinion, the latter is more important, since many of the more sensational female child abusers (Andrea Yates, who drowned her five children in a bathtub) seem to feel that they are in situations where they are not adequately being supported by male figures in their lives. Indeed, Yates herself was mistreated by her overbearing husband, who subscribed to apocalyptic fundamentalist doctrine that served to make her paranoid. While I am not saying that this is the case with all female abusers, the study’s revelations (no pun intended), do make a strong case for paying more attention to women who feel isolated and giving them the mental and social support they clearly need.

I’m not sure all female abusers are so helpless in their situation. There are some people who are just evil, male or female.
i will tell you why female sex offenders are ignored because the women in USA run every thing,and they cry wolf all the time,.take for example salary disparity many many studies show women make more money than men,women are more employed than men but because the media is totally bias against men it reports men are making more money.there are several research papers by women that shows equality between men and women has been achieved in finance but No the media will always report that,women have an agenda to take over one way or another.if any man or women says any thing contrary to women he or she will be squashed .american men have been emasculated
