The man, Robert Daley, 45, had recently been acquitted of sexually abusing the young girl.
Metropolitan police in the UK claimed that a “person of interest” broke into Daley’s house during the course of the evening this past week and stabbed him multiple times in the chest while he slept. He was found bleeding heavily by neighbors and was soon pronounced dead thereafter.
Although the alleged rape was brought to the attention of Child Protective Services, insufficient evidence was found, clearing the man’s name earlier this month.
No further information was available being that the girl in custody is a minor.
I guess it kind of brings new meaning to “I’ll kill you in your sleep.” Many, many times courts are wrong and throw very valid cases out the window for a lack of concrete evidence or even errors in processing evidence. I know nothing about this girl and nothing about her background with the 45 year-old accused pedophile, but if what she said is the truth, well … despite the fact that it doesn’t make it right, she clearly received her own form of justice.

Well…if it was the girl who did it, I doubt she would have killed him if he didn’t rape her. My inner vindictive anarchist is appeased.
Honestly, I don’t have a problem with it. The justice system failed her, she’s most likely suffering from severe PTSD and didn’t feel safe until she knew he was dead.
Sucks for him, but that’s what he gets for raping her.
What of this 18-year-old accomplice? Why is everyone assuming that the justice system was grossly in error & this man certainly deserved death?
I can’t comment on the accomplice because the details are too vague. As far as my assumption that the man is guilty – I don’t see why the young woman would have been distraught to the point of committing murder if he was innocent.

If a case lackes concrete evidence, how is it valid? & I think, really, the idea that things like that happen often is blown out of proportion by our lovely justice system fiction…like, say, “Law-Abiding Citizen.”
The issue with this sort of case is that concrete evidence means DNA evidence these days. He probably wore a condom, and it became a case of her word against his. DA’s don’t prosecute that kind of case if the other party is claiming innocence.
But it’s always a hard situation. It’s not fair to go just on a testimony of one person without other evidence, since that also opens things up for serious abuse of the system. As some women have. Something like this which often occurs without witnesses, where everything can be difficult to prove is always going to have trouble. I’d not want to reform the justice system to incarcerate tons of innocents just to catch a few more guilty.
Not to mention that with things like rape and anything else sexual, accusation is usually conviction in the public mind. So alleged rapists that go free don’t exactly go free – even when they are proven innocent.
Even if he did rape her…I can’t believe she would throw the whole rest of her life away like that. If she gets convicted, well, then she REALLY let him win, despite his death.

Though if he did rape her I can feel sympathy, this is still wrong and I can’t force myself to agree with what she did.

There could be a scenario where he wasn’t guilty, there’s no way for any of us to know as we don’t have any of the facts. My quick mock-up of a scenario is that say the girl became obsessed with the guy, maybe they slept together and then he changed his mind and said they couldn’t see each other again, then she got mad and accused him of rape to punish him for rejecting her, then he won the case and made her look like a crazy bitch, so she kills him again to punish him for not wanting to sleep with her or to make it look like she wasn’t lying about the rape. Yeah it doesn’t sound that likely but it’s plausible enough, and we don’t know any of the facts. The point is either he or she could be crazy, and with a definite murder involved and a possible rape, then we know we’re not talking about the most mentally stable, normally reacting people here. So anythings possible.
I have to agree. I’ve known people who cried rape just to get attention, and I have several close friends who were raped and never said anything. it’s stupidly hard to prove and even harder to prosecute. But my honest to God opinion is, she wouldn’t have done anything like this if there weren’t some sort of relationship, consensual or not, to begin with. and a 45- yr old man deserves whatever he gets for involving himself in that.
Murder is wrong…but I can’t feel sorry for what happened to him. It’s too bad she threw away her whole life for revenge on a man who (if he really was guilty) didn’t deserve a second thought from her.
skip all the fancy legal-ese…she wouldn’t have killed him had he not done anything…good for her…the bastard got what he deserved – she should have bled him out – make him suffer a little longer before he got the rest of his punishment from God.
