I did, and I didn’t think it was terrible. A little schmaltzy, yes, overdone and mildly stereotypical-but-in-a-harmless way, but alright none the less.
It served its purpose: it elicited a round of chuckles, I bit back the offense that I was supposed to take at it because I am the better person and it went forgotten.
Until. Until! I came across this YouTube video showcasing the female response to the commercial and this video pulled forth laughter that was almost unfathomable. Check it out for yourself … it’s just good.

Very fucking funny, and I try not to say fuck, cause it really gets fucking over used,so fucking much that it fuckin looses its fucking punch. But this fuck was fucking funny, fuckin aye!!
You are fucking kidding me?
Personally, I think fuck is a lovely word. Quite possibly one of the most expressive in the English language.
Having said that, if used too much (especially in the real world – you can say fuck here for emphasis and everyone gets it) – it makes you look like an uneducated, low class thug.
Ok,fuck it then!
fuck fuck fuck fuck I love that word! I’m a big fan!
It’s like flowers. Too much is too much but way too much is just right.
I thought the Dodge Charger ad was pathetic. As though men have it so bad that we should feel sorry for them. Fuck them! I’m so sick of being made to feel bad for men. Put some fucking pants on and fucking listen to your wives, is that so fucking hard?
This youtube response was fucking hilarious!
This is the GREATEST youtube video I have ever seen!
I like the Charger advert. I think this response is pointless, pathetic, and just makes women look whiny. Half the stuff they’re bitching about isn’t true anyway.
I dunno, stuff like the charger ad doesn’t usually bother me but for some reason it really annoyed me. Maybe not significantly offended, but I did find myself to be a bit miffed.
I thought the Dodge ad was pretty funny. The line about “I will watch your vampire TV show with you” was SPOT on! My boyfriend’s jaw dropped and he died laughing (and so did I!) when he heard it.
I thought this ad got a little too personal and serious. The Dodge ad stayed superficial and stupid, where the rebuttal went a little too deep. I found the “I will let you cheat on me with girls who are half my age” line pretty fucking ridiculous. Any woman worth her salt will not “allow” her boyfriend or husband to cheat on her.
But the Paul Blart: Mall Cop line was pretty classic! :)
I think that’s what bugged me too. In many ways the dodge ad applied to me, particularly the vampire show thing because my hubby is just crazy about Twilight. Also the Paul Blart line bugged me because I’ve been meaning to watch it ever since it came out and can’t quite bring myself to do so. It was filmed locally and I know I was on camera a ton of times (we spent a lot of time at the mall stealing their AC that summer) so I want to see if I’m in the final cut at all.
Oh, you’ll have to let us know if you’re in it! I will totally watch it if you are!!!

I think the Dodge Ad was particularly insulting because it was part of an aggregate of sexist commercials during the Super Bowl. But, I also detest TV shows that depict adolescents as smart-assed manipulators and the adults as dolts, reality TV centered around sexualization, stereotypes, and excessive alcohol consumption, so I’m obviously not the demographic they were going for!
