I have always loved Susan Sarandon.  From the first time I ever remember seeing her in film (Thelma & Louise) to the last recent movie I remember her starring in (The Banger Sisters), she has always stuck out like a classy sore thumb to me.  She’s always been effortlessly beautiful in a prestigious sort of way and has always held herself with high enough regard to avoid being caught up in the dirty laundry of Hollywood.  Sarandon always did things that mattered, too, whether it was to be an awareness advocate for HIV/AIDS or even to be an ambassador of goodwill with UNICEF.  This woman simply, all-around, rocks.

Recently, Sarandon split with her longtime partner Tim Robbins, with whom she has two children.   While some speculated that the large age-difference between the two ultimately did the relationship in (she’s 63, believe it or not and he’s 51), neither camp has commented too much on their private lives — or what really caused them to split after 23 years.

So, how is Susan holding up after her breakup?  Apparently, quite well. According to eyewitnesses, and comments made by the actress herself, she’s frequenting popular NYC nightclubs and crafty crepe shops and also rubbing elbows with a male friend who’s half her age.

It goes to show, a little bit of moxie goes a long way.  Susan Sarandon, who I feel to be at the height of female emulation, is one classy lady and no matter what trials or theatrical roles come her way, she’s sure to navigate them with the same ease that she’s so accustomed to applying to each and every experience she’s gained along the way.

I love this woman.  It just goes to show that you don’t need a lifelong partner — male or female — to enhance your sustainability.

OMG Joey, I was really hoping the one comment would be about Rocky Horror. That’s what really hooked me on SS.

And she looks as good now as she was back then!

So true. I forget what we were watching but it was one of her more recent movies and my son said “mummy, it’s dammit Janet!” Try as I might I can not convince him that modern day Tim Curry and Frank-N-Furter are one and the same however.

My goodness…. Isn’t your son still pretty young? And he’s seen RHPC?

I saw it when I was thirteen at a friend’s house, and I literally told her dad, “I can’t believe you’re letting us watch this!”

I wonder if she’s had anything done? Her neck is awfully smooth for 63 no?

    • Kai says:

Anyone’s neck will look smooth when stretched out that far.
smooth neck aside, this is a pretty unflatterting photo. Nothing available in a normal body position?

I love her too but as much as I love her – I love Tim Robbins more. I have had a life-long crush on this man and when I heard the news that they split, part of me (the delusional part obviously) got a little bit excited. Tim Robbins – single. I never thought it would happen in this lifetime.

You know, people might think I’m crazy, but I’ve never thought that she, just by her looks alone, was anything special. But there’s something about her attitude and the way she holds herself that makes her one of the sexiest women in Hollywood. She simply exudes confidence and class and I love that about her.
