Forbes has named its year round-up of most trusted celebrities and only one female has made the list: Sally Field.
While I enjoyed Sally immensely in Mrs. Doubtfire, (the Flying Nun was a little before my time, I must admit) she’s hardly got to be the only truly trustworthy woman in Hollywood.
James Earl Jones, Tom Hanks, Michael J. Fox, Mike Rowe, Morgan Freeman (and who can’t trust a man who consistently plays God), Ron Howard, Will Smith, Bill Cosby and Denzel Washington rounded out the other eleven slots of prestige.
I can agree with the list. Off of the top of my head, I’d probably choose Tom Hanks and Will Smith myself, but what about lovely ladies like Angela Lansbury? Or Susan Sarandon, who’s done so much for non-profit organizations around the world? What about Ashley Judd, Michelle Obama or Oprah?
Yes, Forbes, we do have women like the poor, confused Lindsay Lohan on our side that I wouldn’t trust if the fate of the world depended on it and we have others like Amy Winehouse, Paris Hilton and Courtney Love — and we can’t forget Tila Tequila — it doesn’t mean that all of us are drug-addled, mistrustful hyenas who’ll stop at nothing to stick a knife in your back sooner than pass the peas.
If it’s so hard to compile a joint list of trusted, respectable Hollywood male stars and starlets, maybe you can issue a separate column altogether and put your female investigation skills to use. It might take a few extra minutes, but really, there’s a lot of famous women out there who I’d stake my life on to be just as trustworthy as Mufasa.

Why does this require a quota? Why must there be a 50/50 split of whom is most trusted? Why are you even complaining about this?
I’m gonna have to agree with you on this one.
On a side note though, Mike Rowe? Really? Why? Seriously, why? I think he’s funny and all that but he also seems the type to spill his guts for the fun of it.
Probably because the dude will wade through poop just so you don’t ever have to.
How strange, I happen to be watching “Dirty Jobs” right now, and I completely agree with him being trust worthy. Look at all the stuff he’s willing to do to make people happy… all the gross, nasty stuff

I understand what the author is saying in that no, there doesn’t need to be “quota” as you said, but that there were a lot of female celebrities who were overlooked. And as for Mike Rowe, c’mon.. He’s up there before OPRAH!?
I don’t know who mike rowe is, but I’d trust most anyone over Oprah. This is a woman who has supported every pseudoscientist who pops up with a platform to spread their often dangerous misinformation.
I’m a terrible gossip,and its one of the things I love about my female friends,someone to dish the dirt with. Is that sexist,if so I’m guilty.
Isn’t Morgan Freeman going thru a divorce since he is living with his Step-Granddaughter? I think that should knock him off the list.

I kind of almost peed when I read that.
I’m actually pleasantly surprised that they just went ahead and made a list of ten, and didn’t feel the women needed their own special list. If women happened to be one in ten, that doesn’t mean women aren’t trusted – just that they aren’t in the top ten. Maybe numbers eleven through eighteen would have been women if they did a top twenty. Who knows? who cares?
