Each and every year, AskMen.com compiles a list of their Top 99 hottest women of the year and each and every year it hardly fails to disappoint that yes, the women who make the list, are gorgeous. While many consider the practice of “rating” women in the public arena to be a base and anti-feminist and yes, objectifying practice, the countdown hasn’t stopped in … well, it’s been going on for a long time and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. Not even for the uber-feminist Nazi-type.
I’ll admit: I enjoy checking the site out yearly to see who they’ve elected to grace their Top 99 simply on the basis that I am a woman who can appreciate beauty in all forms — even if I haven’t made the list. Yet. (Kidding.) I checked it out this year and was surprised to see that Megan Fox was not the number one slot. Rather, in the number one slot. Sorry, Freudian slip.
The woman holding the number one position with a firm grip is none other than Emmanuelle Chriqui. Chriqui, if you’re not familiar with her talent, is a Canadian actress and stars in the television series Entourage. She’s also held other various, smaller roles in movies on the big screen. Incidentally, she also appeared on the popular Nickelodeon series,Are You Afraid of the Dark? which was one of my favorite television shows growing up.
The point of bringing note to this year’s AskMen poll is because I think they made a wise choice. The website explains that Emmanuelle was chosen not only for her beautiful physical appearance, but because she’s mature. And seemingly-intelligent. And private about her life.
Emmanuelle has thanked AskMen.com for naming her this year’s #1 female on their Top 99 list. She sure has got the chutzpah to back it up, too. Emmanuelle’s response to being chosen? :
“Hearing what that vote is made of is the biggest compliment of all because it’s not just about being ‘hot’ but about being a well-rounded woman. That’s really empowering … “
Good for you, doll. Good for you.

I don’t know who she is, but she’s absolutely gorgeous :)
