Dr. Drew Claims Heidi Montag is a Female-Female Crossdresser

And, no, I don’t get what that’s supposed to mean, either.

In light of recent events involving Heidi Montag and her admission of plastic surgery addiction, Dr. Drew Pinsky is in the house to claim that it has nothing to do with “addiction.”  Her problem is that she likes to validate herself over and over again by going under the knife.

In a stunning remark, Drew states that Heidi is starting to emulate a man impersonating a woman — a cross-dresser.  He claims that her “over-feminization” and over-accentuation of her already-feminine features is making her look like a … drag queen?

“I also, by the way, call that — the kind of extreme accentuation of her feminine features — it’s really female-female cross dressing … It’s like she’s taking on an excessively feminizing characteristic, fetish-izing her entire body, it’s a little troubling, a little problematic.”

Now, don’t get me wrong, I personally wouldn’t redo my entire physical being and I don’t judge people who feel the need to revise each and every God-given feature they possess — but what I do find problematic about this entire thing is that a “psychologist” such as Dr. Drew has the balls to disseminate this woman in a very real arena over what could be a very real problem.  Kind of like that time that Dr. Phil allegedly helped Britney’s parents intervene in her behavior and offered her to come on the show to discuss her issues.

It’s like, dude … You’re supposed to be a doctor, for crying out loud.  You don’t need to put your two cents in on every single media event — especially when it comes to publicizing a diagnosis on a patient that’s not even yours.

Just … not cool.

And how exactly would one disseminate a woman…?

    • Sarah says:

Oh, jeez. I meant disseminate his advice TO the woman. Sorry about that, good catch!

    • Nat says:

I’m picturing the Tom Petty video for “Don’t Come Around Here No More,” except instead of an Alice cake, it’s a Montag cake (eeugghhh, there’s a cake I wouldn’t eat), and he’s doling out slices to all the readers. That’s how you disseminate a woman.

My brain, it’s a fun place to be.

    • Kai says:

That makes a little more sense. :)
I was thinking that whatever ‘disseminating a woman’ might entail, it couldn’t be pleasant.

I see what he means. She used to be pretty, now she just looks sort of off and fake. She definitely looks masculine now and with her mostly fake boobs she just doesn’t look like she was born a woman at this point.

That said, his remarks are wholly inappropriate. If he’s genuinely concerned then a letter to her might be more appropriate. Publishing it in a public forum is just attention seeking behavior.

It seems like he was asked about it, it’s not like Dr. Drew held a press conference to announce his opinions on Heidi Montag. Also, lol, do you think she can read?

    • Sara says:

I think her allowing People to write an article detailing her surgery (with before and after photos!) waived her right to privacy.

This guy has a celebrity rehab show on vh1, right? So I’m guessing that while he is a doctor, he’s also probably a bit of a fame whore.

  4. JorgeMacD says:

He didn’t just start using that term with Heidi, this stretches way way back many years, back to his LoveLine days.

Never thought I’d see the day when someone would defend Heidi Montag in any capacity. She’s clearly a few sandwiches short of a picnic. I agree with Sara; when you put all that out there like that you’re kind of fair game. I highly doubt she cares what he says anyway. She’s made a living off people disliking her and her husband. There’s no way on Earth she’d ever think she has a problem. So bitch and moan about “how dare he??” but it’s falling on deaf ears. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over Heidi’s hurt feelings.

I agree with what Dr. Drew said and see his point. If you look at the changes she made and her continual obsession with her breasts it is like she’s trying exaggerate being feminine. Drag queens and cross-dressers often do that. Ex. Over the holiday season I watched a burlesque version of the Nutcracker and had to point out the men in drag to my male companions because they didn’t believe any were on stage. They continued to dismiss me stating that the ones I said were men couldn’t be because “they were the most feminine”. Exactly. Every action and every ounce of their make-up and fake breasts was sheer exaggeration. They looked and acted more womanly than the real women on stage. I’m not saying this happens across the board but Dr. Drew has brought up an interesting point.

What happens when our own natural femininity doesn’t match “societies standards”? Heidi is what happens.
