Massachusetts males have been pegged: their testosterone levels have evidently decreased this year by about 1.2% this year. And every prior year for the last seventeen years, which shows an alarming number in limited reproductive functionality at about 17% or so.
Specialists claim that this decrease in testosterone is also linked with decreased quality of semen and reproductive cancers.
It’s widely known that as you, as a man, age, your testosterone levels decrease not unlike that of a woman and her estrogen. However, what’s going on that’s seriously affecting our hormone levels? I mean, these numbers are craziness — roughly one percent a year? What’s going on with our endocrine systems that is throwing such things out of whack?
Many people speculate that it’s one issue or more: heightened drug use, a prevalence in depression and other psychological disorders, a lack of healthy, unaltered food supply and an abundance of anabolic steroid use.
What’s your pleasure and at what point will it finally end? Are we jinxing ourselves out of repopulating the earth by making bad decisions for our bodies?

Wearing girl pants.
It’s birth control pills in the water…no shit…I saw a story about it a while ago. Men are being bombarded with estrogen, it’s why more males are turning gay as well. They’re finding frogs with both genitalia in alarming numbers.
Wait wait wait….what?? Please explain or put a link or tell me you’re joking.
“why more men are TURNING gay” are you sure about that one Peggy? I was sort of kind of under the impressions that people are born gay. :) I could be wrong…
Ignore her. She, apparently, also thinks that hermaphrodites and homosexuals are the same thing.
Logic unseen since the glory of Troll 2…..
So I read the whole hermaphrodites=homosexuals and started to do a mental wtf is wrong with her, but then started thinking if you have both genitals wouldn’t you technically be considered gay if you were attracted to anyone at all as you would have the same sex organs as both male and females?
Sorry if I don’t make any sense I have a migraine and they always make me intensly stupid for some reason.
Jesus H Christ, it’s amazing how a perfectly innocent post is turned into some atrocity against humanity by the political correctness squad. Am I the only one that noticed that there is an increase in homosexuality in society? Born gay, turned gay….whatever, there are more gays, that’s my point and scientists are theorizing that hormones in the water supply are to blame. Hormones have a profound affect on sexuality. Grow up!!
I don’t think there’s a “growing homosexuality” in society, I just think now they’re not as afraid of coming out as they were 20 years ago.
There are more people who admit they’re gay. It’s more socially acceptable and it’s no longer a crime in most western societies; I think there are still a few states with laws against sodomy on the books still. It’s not that there are more gay people, just that gay men are now more free to settle down with a guy than having to marry a woman for the sake of appearance.
Oh, no, she’s right. There was a story on it so it must be true! It’s the birth control pills in the water that are the reason for an increasing number of openly gay people, not the fact that being gay is becoming more socially acceptable as time wears on.
Just for shits and giggles I googled “hormones in water make men gay.” Apparently so does soy, tofu, fish, and eating luna bars makes men grow breasts. The things one can learn on the web.
Well if large amounts of estrogen are ingested by fetuses then theoretically it could affect the sexuality or gender identity of the child. So yes, if there are birth control pills in the water supply it could have an outcome on sexuality. The scientists say that the estrogen in the water supply is responsible for making frogs inter-sexed so it’s reasonable to think it could have the same effect on human physiology. Maybe some scientist will stop by and add to the discussion before I am beheaded by the pc police.
**heeheehee, no beheadings in the USA, Peggy.
Now on a serious side, Peggy. I can see the logic behind what you’ve just said. Who knows what can happen on a cellular level with a developing fetus.
It just struck me as funny the way the first post was worded. I’m picturing in my head – Fully muscled he-man drinks a glass of water and viola, turns gay. I’m apologize for giggling at that post, it really did just hit me funny!
“Just for shits and giggles I googled “hormones in water make men gay.” Apparently so does soy, tofu, fish, and eating luna bars makes men grow breasts. The things one can learn on the web.”
Just thought I’d point out that soy (and thereby tofu) is full of isoflavones that are extraordinarily similar to estrogen. Oh, and also fish will end up full of whatever chemicals are in the water they’re in.
I have no idea what Luna Bars are, though.
It’s ok Vchilds, I know you mean well and your lunar bar comment cracked me up.
It’s a very small amount though. They did some study that said male rats grew breasts or some such and argued that soy caused it. Really they were giving the rats massive amounts though, equivalent to eating something like 100lbs of tofu per day. The only people who need to avoid soy are the ones with thyroid issues who are specifically warned against it by their doctors. Even then it’s mostly processed soy that’s the issue, eating things like edamame (fresh soy beans) and minimally processed stuff like tofu is often OK and they just need to avoid things like meat-style veggie burgers.
So, I can finally grow me some boobs if I up my soy intake?
NICE!
Only if you’re a rat and you eat 100lbs of tofu a day. There’s always a catch.
And I have read studies that definately link earlier puberty due to the hormones in beef and such….
**and I can’t spell worth a shit it seems
HAHA it’s late dear, no one spells well at this hour. I buy organic meats to avoid the hormones. We know exposure to too much estrogen in human form is linked to breast cancer so God only knows what cow hormones do. The FDA should really outlaw hormones IMO.
It’s food, it’s food, it’s food. It’s the poison we’re putting into our bodies every day with the food we eat.
That said, Sarah, this photo choice is beyond genius.
Your right, your right, your right. I live in the midwest and we have warehouses the size of football stadiums full of farm chemicals. I’ve also heard of the estrogen in the water hypothesis.
Are you still doing the vegan thing?
It’s the milk! rBGH, anyone?

Please forgive me if this isn’t completely relevant, but I have been on birth control for 13 years now and I think the different forms of it have done some insane things to my body.
In the past couple years I have been growing hair-not like one or two, but patches-groves, if you will- of hair- where I never did before. To the point where my girlfriends are in awe (possibly disgust) of my ability to grow man-hair. I only have a period occasionally, like once every 4 months, and even then, it’s like for a day. Also it’s not something anyone else in my family has ever experienced.
Had anyone else here dealt with this sort of thing? Do you think it relates to this problem men are having?
Sounds like PCOS to me. The excess hair is caused by excess testosterone production so a blood test should give you some idea. Have you had any other symptoms like weight gain or difficulty losing weight? Ever tried to get pregnant and failed?I suggest you look it up on WebMD or something similar to compare your symptoms and then consult your dr. They may suggest a different BC pill or another medication like metformin.
I’ve had PCOS for a number of years now and it sucks. It makes losing weight such a struggle and I have random hairs that need plucking. I also have no idea when my period is going to show up, my cycle has ranged from less then 3 weeks to more then 9 months (not including the time I was pregnant) in the time since I was diagnosed.
I think- I’m not entirely sure- but I think that you’re not supposed to be on birth control for more than a few years straight. I may be wrong so don’t hold me to this one but I believe that you’re supposed to take breaks every few years when you’re on birth control. Like, you should take it for a few years and then not take it for a few months. So, maybe that has something to do with it…
I recently read GM food is very usual in the US, is that true? Here in Europe it isn’t, and any product which contains GM food must be labelled as such. I’m not keen on thinking all the synthetic hormones I’m swallowing when I eat :(
*on thinking OF all… sorry I just woke up. And yes, it’s 11:50.
I learned in plant bio that 95% of the world’s soybean crop is GM.
more hormones in women lead to depression, explains menstrual fluctuations.
Low testosterone in men can be a result of various factors at play. Stress, depression, lack of physical activity etc., can all lead to low T-levels. However, an active lifestyle and right dietary habits can help you boost Testosterone production naturally.
