Your Children: Too Stupid to Understand Gay Marriage

Another precious gem from the organization that brought you The Storm anti-equality ads. It’s running in New Hampshire, which recently passed a bill legalizing gay marriage. The ad asks people to encourage the state’s governor to veto the bill.
Because, look: If we legalize same-sex marriage, our kids will be so messed up. In fact, what might actually happen is that the gays would go back in time and un-birth all these children and then they’d be dead and have no parents and then also they would hate the Bible. Get it?
Yeah, I’m confused, too.

at least I give them props for using “Ana and Eve” and not “Adam and Steve.” I bet whoever thought that up was sooo proud of themselves.
Does that kid think that the camera is his grandmother? I like the kid at the end who says “I’m confused,” but ya gotta admit, he seems really down with the idea. Like, I duno what’s going on- but this gay marriage thing seems pretty great. I agree, little one.
I’ll be goddamned if I live in a country where we teach our children not to discriminate or think that being gay is wrong!!
Oh and you know the silent kids are the ones with gay parents. Poor kids :(:(
Ugh.
That’s sickening.
The worst part is, I bet a ton of people have called that number because of this commercial. Obviously gay marriage is the most critical issue in society and will ruin our country if we offer equal rights.
I’m confused.
Only I’m confused why this company would waste any time or money on this ridiculous ad.
:O FORWARD THINKING! What will we do!?
I want to see one where they show the same kids, but tell them the truth about Santa
Hah, brilliant.
YOU ARE ALL GOING TO BURN IN HELL!
Yes! I am going down in flames. Get it?
Hell is just a fabulous disco inferno.
Is Big Daddy code for God? It’s not??
Well then, I guess I can continue to leave the judgment of my eternal soul up to God. Maybe you should too.
This crap makes me so mad! It’s the reason why America is lagging behind all other developed nations in their quest for equal rights.
i wouldn’t say that we lag behind all other nations in equal rights. at all. case in point: china is a developed nation. we’re lucky to have what we have, even if more opportunities need to be made available.
isn’t China usually considered to be “developing” rather than developed?
Yes. Only a few parts of China are considered First World
Mostly the places occupied by Western powers until recently…
Mostly HK, innit?
Yeah, Macao is okay too. Kind of.
I don’t know whether I’m really the right person to comment on this issue, as I live in the UK, but this ad seems very condescending towards children and the populace in general…
“Our children will be taught a new way of thinking” is the one that worries me the most…
Also if that kid met another kid who had 2 dads (who weren’t married but were in a stable relationship etc) would he be all “who’s your mom?!” and get all confused? NO. He’d just accept it and adapt and move on, like kids do.
of course you can comment on this issue! I love perspectives from other countries. It’s so much easier to look at an issue from far away, rather than being right in the middle of it.
And I agree. It’s not like banning gay marriage is going to make gay people stop being gay. Your children will still meet a gay couple eventually. Confusion is not something that should lead to condemnation.
Flashback…we had a show about a girl with two dad’s in the 80’s. Anyone remember “My Two Dad’s”? While they were both supposedly strait, I remember there being quite the distinction on who the butch and who the femme was.
I have gay friends, both male and female. My children know what it means to be gay and it’s not a big deal. Maybe kids wouldn’t be confused if parents simply explain it. My daughter has known what it means since she was two and a half. If you ask her what gay means she’ll tell you “If you’re a boy, you like boys and if you’re a girl, you like girls” (to date or marry) I know the real problem is theses wack-jobs that, for some reason, are filled with hate and fear of people who are gay. I do my best to teach “Do unto others…”. So far it’s working at my house!
weird! smart parents = smart kids
great job Shan!
*sigh* hurry up and kill the gays..
